"I'm crouched down almost in a dog play position watching my dog Emma dream. You can see the movement of her eyes beneath her lids racing. Her legs moving as if she is running .... is she chasing a ball? ..... playing with another dog? ..... chewing on a stick? ..... I will never know. Other times I crouch down so close I can feel her breath on me. I find myself like my sculpture becoming dog like just to get that much closer to her."
